I saw a couple lousy reviews written by someone claiming to be me, so I had to go to this place myself to see what was going on. It was on a Thursday and the $2 beers and rail drinks were served up by a really friendly bartender named Randy. I had just come from one of the dead bars downtown and found this bar to be packed. Randy introduced me to many of the people. This corner bar had a mixed crowd of gay men, women, and a few straight people. Finally, a gay bar without attitude. They only cared that their customers had fun. I was welcomed by the pool players and the dart slingers as well as a bunch of other newbies at the bar. I even met this old dude from DC that was unlucky in love that night. I didn't eat their pizza, but I sat next to someone that was eating the stretchy cheesy pizza. They said that it was really good. If I would have listened to the imposter CapnChaos, I would have missed out on a great night. Maybe he needs to go to the ritzy titzy bars downtown. Listen to the real CapnChaos and check this place out for some down home fun.

I find it curious that Capncaos hasn't reviewed any other places. Sounds like he's got a beef with this place. He must have gotten kicked out. I know a bartender there and the accusations about pricing and drinks are false.

It's a wonder this place is still open. I went back again on a Saturday night to give it another chance. It was WORSE. The drinks are much smaller than before and the low prices were even jacked up a little despite being on special. The internet jukebox still blocks many genres of music. The owners like to bother their customers with sexual innuendo and poorly placed conversation. What's worse, on this visit, one of the owners literally tore the bartender a new butt hole for a very minor accident. Bad form... VERY bad form.

How wonderful it is to have a place to party at or just have a few cocktails away from the craziness of the Third Ward area. I was kindly introduced from the server, then introduced to the other patrons as well! So nice to be made welcome! Inexpensive cocktails w/their 2-4-1 daily special along with "Pool table, Dart Board, Video Games & Internet Jukebox kept me well entertained. The staff was super friendly & talkative! Other places just serve the cocktail to me, then go back to their little corner and ignor me as if I didn't fit in with the regular crowd. Not at City Lights! They actually asked me to move down, closer to other patrons so that I wasn't alone. I give them a mighty high rating for there initiative to make me feel welcome & right at home. I especially enjoy the fact that I can park my Harley Davidson out front w/out worrying about theft or vandalism. I heard that the owners are moving their private vehicles onto the street for the Motorcycle Club that meets at this bar weekly, that's impressive by anyone's standards. A BIG "CHEERS TO CITY LIGHTS CHILL" Thank You for being there!!!
